Kaszazz workshop for February

I LOVE this page. It is sooo effective and as you can see perfect for those lovely old photos.
I do follow my family tree and have accumulated quite a few old family photos that I had wanted to display properly in a scrapbook.
If anyone is interested the little girl sitting down is my Grandma Gwendoline Deakin. She is my fathers mother and was born in Bath in the Uk. Gwendolines father is Henry and he was a blacksmith along with his 3 other brothers. This was back in 1851.
I love history especially if it is personal.

Creative Blog hop

This week is my turn for the creative blog hop - now most of you will know that I have never taken part in something like this but my great crafty friend Clare over at Craftycow
has challenged me to the blog hop this time.
I hope I dont let everyone down

Anyway here I go- I run  Sals Card Swap group over at-
Sals card swap
and we are a group of creative ladies that create beautiful cards each month. I put up a challenge or sketch for everyone to make 3 cards to send to me. I then mix them up and send 3 cards back to everyone in the group. Its really fun and we get lots of inspiration from everyone. If you would like to join just go over and add your name, all welcome.
Here is one challenge we had a while ago which I think is very clever- The Waterfall card.
It looks very complicated to make but once we follow the instructions for the first one, its actually quite easy and very affective.

You can see that as you pull the tag with the ribbon on how it flips down like a waterfall. You can write you message under the waterfall flaps or on the tag at the bottom.

Now I have some questions that Clare has set me to answer:
What are you working on now?

Well officially Im not working on anything although I have a lot of ideas going on in my head for my scrapbooking pages. I have 2 boys that I have been scrapping about for years. I also have to think about the next lot of cards I need to make for the next swap.

Why do you create what you do?

I love creating anything. I find it very satisfying using up items I have sitting around, waiting to be used to make something to compliment what I make. I love capturing all my boys special events in their lives, funny things they say etc.

How does your work differ from others in your genre?

I dont think it stands out in anyway. I just find creating is part of my life. I need it. Its like an essential thing in my life. I think if I didnt do it I would not be complete.
I love to create my own ideas but get a lot of inspiration from others.
How does your creative process work?
My creative process is different with nearly everything I make. I might get an idea from a photo or picture Ive seen. A certain colour might tricker a memory. Something I hear my boys say might get me thinking about a new project. At the mo they are both into Superheroes and I am working out ways to make a scrapbooking page that looks like a comic with them being the superheroes. A lot of my ideas take alot of planning, time, searching and the whole process of putting it altogether can take months. Im not a very quick creative person.

Hope that is something other crafty creative bloggers will be interested in.
Stay tuned for the next blogs
